Senior UX Content Designer

Kickstarter, PBC
Content Director
Jul 2016 — May 2020
As Content Director at Kickstarter, I worked closely with copywriters, designers, product managers, and engineers to lead large brand initiatives.
From 2018-2020 I oversaw the conception and execution of brand marketing campaigns in the form of open calls for projects around specific themes or guidelines (think: RPG zines, short films, limited editions of 100). Collectively, these initiatives raised more than $10M in funding for over 2,000 creative projects on Kickstarter.
During my time at Kickstarter I also:
Wrote compelling marketing and UX copy
Developed editorial and promotional strategies to elevate Publishing, Music, and Games projects
Produced two video series, which you can watch here
Created and edited content for flagship newsletters
Launched Kickstarter’s first-ever creator newsletter
Profiled and interviewed successful creators for Kickstarter Magazine
Produced educational resources for Kickstarter creators
Previous roles: Senior Editorial Producer, Strategic Content Producer
In this role I managed and assigned the editorial calendar and collaborated with the sales team to ensure that brands received appropriate coverage. I also led the company’s SEO strategy for women’s content with guidance from a team at Conductor Searchlight.
Day-to-day, I wrote and edited articles and social media copy, produced how-to and editorial videos, and put together reports on traffic and engagement metrics.
As part of a small team, I collaborated with the Online Director to take Wmag.com from the mirror of the print magazine it was when it launched in November 2007 to the autonomous web destination it is today, complete with online exclusive articles, video series, and active social media channels.
I handled all web production as well as the day-to-day management of The Daily W, the editors’ blog, where I also wrote about music, film, books, and more. I also managed the editorial calendar and produced updates for W’s iPad app (remember those?).
For much of 2013 I worked directly with W’s web team, Conde Nast engineers, and designers at Sweden Unlimited to plan and implement a redesign of Wmag.com. After it launched in June, site traffic doubled from previous months.
My first job out of college. I completed long- and short-term fact-checking projects including restaurant listings and weekly travel columns. I also wrote original content for new listings and traded Twin Peaks conspiracy theories with my coworkers.
